Don't let the strip mall location fool you — Empanada Girl Cafe is a genuine find. Walk in and you're greeted by a display packed with a wide variety of fresh, handmade empanadas, including meat and breakfast versions. My personal favorites are the sweet potato and butternut, and the spinach and feta. Off to the side, an upright refrigerated section holds fresh pasta and sauces, along with a few other tasty extras worth a look. They also pull a solid espresso. There's casual seating inside and a few spots outside if you want to grab your empanada(s) and coffee and stay a bit, or you can just take it to go. This is the kind of neighborhood spot that's easy to totally miss unless you know to look for it. Highly recommend! I love keeping a stash of these empanadas in my fridge or freezer.
I saw your post this morning and decided to give them a try. It was my very first time ever having an empanada! Everything was absolutely incredible, and we ended up ordering a bunch to take home. The flavors were amazing, the service was great, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend! 😁
Interesting experience. It wasn’t exactly clear from the website, but you can get the empanadas, frozen, refrigerated or heated up and ready to eat. Since we were doing “the takeout thing” we got them heated and ready to eat. There is a wide selection of different fillings from breakfast to vegan to meat. The only way to tell them apart is by looking at the code stamped in the corner. See the close-up in the picture. This matches up with the code on the receipt and the menu. We ordered chicken, beef, beef, and sweet potato with butternut squash. I would have to say the meat ones were the favorite. Everyone was quite friendly and I believe building a brand name was important to them. They came with a small container of chimichurri sauce. It was great and to the extent it lasted. I put it on everything. They did say that two would be sufficient for dinner. There I have to disagree. I think three or maybe four. Probably wouldn’t hurt to pick up some extra chimichurri sauce too.
