Longtime seafood spot in an industrial space with mounted fish & an outdoor bar.
I’ve been coming to Walt’s Fish Market Restaurant for years, and it never disappoints. If you’re looking for the best seafood around, this is the place to go. On this visit we had the hogfish and the grouper sandwich, and both were absolutely amazing. The fish is always fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. One of my favorite memories is bringing in fish we caught ourselves years ago and having them cook it fresh for us. It’s such a unique experience and one of the many reasons this place stands out. A special thank you to the outdoor bar team. All three of the bartenders were awesome, and Logan, I believe his name was, the bar back, was fantastic. They were friendly, attentive, and really made our trip even more enjoyable. Everything on the menu is consistently excellent, the staff is welcoming, and the atmosphere is always a great time. Hands down, this is the best place for fresh fish. Highly recommend! 🐟
What a treat to go to a real fish market restaurant! It was fabulous! Tight parking and a bit pricey (but everything is so it’s in line). Loved the building and its authenticity. My grouper bowl was outstanding! The fish dip they gave us for a starter was delicious. I want more! Going back for the hogfish and smoked mackerel!
Walt’s Fish Market is an absolute Sarasota gem! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, friendly, and attentive. The seafood was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared, with every dish showcasing the quality ingredients and expertise of the kitchen. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between casual and coastal, making it a great spot for both a relaxed lunch or a special dinner. The portions were generous, the flavors were outstanding, and everything arrived promptly. If you’re looking for exceptional seafood in Sarasota, Walt’s Fish Market is a must-visit. Great food, excellent service, and a wonderful overall dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!
