When visiting anywhere near Sarasota we Always make our last night Owens fish camp ! This past week stayed in AMI and although lovely best meal of the week was easily Owen’s ! Best shrimp and grits ever! Crab dip amazing ! Charbroiled oysters to die for , the entire vibe is perfection. Only negative I would mention is music was incredibly loud in restaurant had to shout to one another. Desserts pecan pie absolutely rivaled my moms
amazing food and good music. service is great. it was a great last night for our florida trip. highlight was the oysters Rockefeller and the apple pie! the mussels were amazing as well. i got the grouper sandwhich which was fine, not bad, but a little plain. the jambalaya was great!
Owen’s Fish Camp in Sarasota was a fantastic experience! The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was truly unique—laid-back, fun, and full of character. We especially loved the backyard setup; such a great concept for relaxing while you wait. The bourbon sweet tea was a standout—definitely a must-try. For food, I had the crusted trout with fries, and Kim ordered the mahi-mahi fish tacos—both were delicious. We finished with the bourbon pecan pie topped with homemade whipped cream and ice cream… absolutely amazing. It did get a little loud at times, but the overall vibe more than made up for it. I didn’t get a chance to try their milkshakes (the ones with a little “something extra,” if you know what I mean), but I’ll definitely be back for that next time. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere! We have a YouTube channel that we are going to greate a video of this place. Our channel is called "It's All About Food & Places" we only create videos of places we like and we do not get paid from the owners to say this.
