My Hubby, Mom & I were in the area today and searched for a local family owned eatery. We were pleased to find the Village Patio. We came right as they were opening. It gave us time to explore the menu & the adorable little house that became this local gem. Mom enjoyed the brisket sandwich & cole slaw. She ate all of it! This is impressive if you know her. She's particular in her tastes, esp with cole slaw. I devoured a turkey hoagie & chips. Hubby brought leftovers home from the brisket, ribs & pulled pork platter, with sides of Mac & Cheese and Tomato, Cucumber & Onion salad. He said that the BBQ was not like you find in a typical restaurant (overcooked & fall off the bone). This was closer to what we've had at Competition cook & would find scoring nicely. The ribs had a good bite with pull. The brisket has a perfect smoke ring. The pulled pork was good, but a tad drier than we prefer. Could be just the day. Sauce is served on the side, so you can add to your preference. With drinks, our total was just under $70, which to me is very reasonable for what we were served. The location appeared clean & well kept. It was super cute! The young man & young lady helping us today were friendly and attentive. Exactly everything we hoped to find! If we're ever in Bradenton again in the future, we'll be back.
We were very impressed by the atmosphere, owner, menu, and the most important part...the food. We were there at lunchtime. Furthermore, we were the first ones there. I had an Italian cold sandwich that was very good. My wife had the pulled pork platter, with corn, mac & cheese, and rolls. The pulled pork and BBQ sauce were excellent. The star of the show was the mac & cheese. We have never eaten mac & cheese this good before. It was different, and you have to try it. The owner said that he and another chef worked on the right combo for the mac & cheese. They deserve an award, which could be your visit to ty it!
We stumbled across this cute place Saturday evening while visiting the Arts District. We love historic homes and that's one thing that drew us to it. Upon entering we were greeted by Shelly and Patrick the owners. They instantly made us feel right at home. Speaking of home, that's what this place felt like. It had a cozy, comfy feeling and the owners made it even more homey. They offered water for pets in a cute little container, they offered a shelf with games, puzzles, crayons, coloring books, and more for kids and families, they offered what appeared to be complimentary coffee, and teas. The walls displayed beautiful artwork that was also for sale from local artist. The place had character and charm. There is a cute little fireplace in the middle that is no longer operational but we enjoyed hearing the history of it. Patrick and Shelly were very friendly and we enjoyed speaking to them after dinner about the history of the home they had turned into a cozy and great food restaurant. Shelly gave me a map of and told me all about the Art District. We also spoke about how we both met our husbands in highschool! Felt like we made some nice friends. They made us feel like family! The food was amazing! It's also affordable compared to many in the area. Between my family of four we had the brisket, pulled pork, ribs, cucumber, tomato, and onion salad, house, slaw, rolls, salad, and beef and cheese quesadilla. Both my husband and son loved the cucumber, tomato, and onion salad they ordered as a side. We also enjoyed the side of coleslaw. It was made perfectly. My house salad was big and fresh. Very tasty. Everyone loved the meat! Especially the pulled pork and brisket! Wow! So good!!!!! My daughter enjoyed her quesadilla. We also appreciated that they made their historic beauty into an ADA accessible place. There is a ramp up to the restaurant. They also made it ADA accessible to the restrooms. This made it easier for my disabled daughter and her service dog Buddy. Thank you for your hospitality and delicious food! We will definitely be back. The Touchstone Family ❤️
