Sarasocial Restaurant & Bar

Our first night in Sarasota- visiting from Boston and Portland Me. We were greeted by Evan who was so warm and friendly. We were seated and our waitress/ bartender - Erica and we couldn’t have been more pleased. She helped us with menu selections and again super friendly and comfortable with all of us. We had cosmopolitans, a spicy cocktail and a handcrafted white sangria which was delicious!!! She even went out of her way to make a non- alcoholic drink for my mom. For appetizers we had the Brussel sprouts/ cauliflower and the deconstructed crab ragoons which were amazing- the biscuits were crispy on the outside and light inside. Would recommend. We had the mama shrimp fried rice which was a huge hit!!!! Really cool presentation and really fresh and delicious. The pork chop dinner was a close second. We had the braised short rib with grits- it was good but the rib could have been a bit more tender. For dessert we had the passion fruit cheesecake and an amazing banana bread pudding. We met the chefs Mark and I cannot remember his name- both very humble and super friendly. Amazing and I would highly recommend!!!! Will definitely come back!

Fork and Hen is absolutely my favorite restaurant in the Sarasota/Bradenton area! I’m a big time foodie who moved from Canada four years ago and while I don’t miss the weather, I do miss the vibrant food scene Toronto has to offer. Fork and Hen scratches that itch every single time without fail! From the insane flavor profiles to the gorgeous presentation - it’s all mouth wateringly delicious! I do miss their smaller, more cozy/intimate location but understand why they moved to a bigger spot. Either way, this is my top recommended restaurant on the Gulf Coast!

Fork & Hen!!! Yes, more please 😃!Finally, a Sarasota restaurant that hasn’t raised their prices and slashed their portions after the 2024 storm season. Thank you 🙏 - As a die hard yet picky old fashioned drinker, my cocktail was crafted to absolute perfection. The food…I could go on and on about the menu (see pics) which is southern inspired, think chicken on waffles, shrimp and grits, red snapper on jambalaya and of course “The Hitman” double burger. But you just really need to try this place for yourself to understand. The portion sizes are ridiculously huge and put my large guy to shame as this was the first time ever I saw him unable to finish a meal! I mean we left with four boxes of leftovers. How? Megan was our server and made us feel so comfortable, gave us a history of the restaurant and the owners and then warned us about the portion sizes…we didn’t listen. LOL She is a gem and clearly a force that makes this restaurant run smoothly as the owners/chefs are cooking in the kitchen. Then Mark, one of the owners visited with us for a bit which was such a personable touch. How often does a busy chef take the time to greet new patrons? Only one who really cares about the patrons and solicits feedback on how well he and Alfonso (the co-owner) are meeting expectations. At this point we are hooked. Somehow at this point a “ginormous” chocolate chip cookie emerges at the table and it is quite possibly the best cookie I have had in my life. These guys need to open a cookie store too! Overall, our time at the Fork & Hen was a fantastic experience. We highly recommend giving them a try…we will be back soon. 😃
