This is one of those restaurants we've returned to every single time we came back to Bradenton. This was I think our 6th visit. Home cooked island food so good and fall off the bone tender, you don't get napkins but instead a roll of paper towels at each table. The Mama G's is a for-sure winner. The combo of oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken all served with rice and peas (beans) and fries plantains is magnificent. This is the supreme plate for someone (like me!) who can't make up their mind. All the juicy bits get soaked into the rice and give you a mouth full of explosion! This meal is big enough for two meals or perfect to share. Share we did! We also got the veg platter to split so we could have more sides. The cabbage rounded out our meal perfectly. The salmon was equally tasty. I love that the meals come to the table in to go containers, because there is so much. This is way easier than having to transfer it from a plate to a container at the end of the meal. If you're able, indulge in a Red Stripe or a rum punch. Enjoy the music! Every time we've been here the DJ has been spinning soulful mixes. Maybe next time we will have room for dessert.

I’m visiting out of town and was craving Caribbean food. The food hands down was the best Jamaican food I’ve ever had, outside of Jamaica or my family making it. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. I ordered the Jerk plate-The leg quarters JUICY with plenty of gravy, the rice & peas were flavorful, the plantain was cooked perfectly and the cabbage was just how I like it! Everything was cooked perfectly! My friends got the curry goat and the oxtails and their food was just as DELICIOUS! The servings were more than plentiful! The owner Rodney was so sweet & amazing, and so was the bartender Tracy. It feels like you’re back at home talking to family. We sat at the bar and got great customer service; and the drinks were so good & strong (of course) It has plenty of seating to properly sit down and a DJ comes in later & it’s definitely a great vibe. We came back the next morning for patties and they were just as good-flaky, and full. We will definitely be back & will bring our families-you will not be disappointed at all!
