Mirna's Cuban Cuisine

Mirna’s Cuban Cuisine is an absolute gem in Sarasota! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm, friendly service that made us feel right at home. The food was outstanding and tasted like authentic homemade Cuban cooking. Every dish we tried was full of flavor from the perfectly seasoned ropa vieja, juicy skirt steak, pollo empanizado, arroz con pollo, to the crispy papa rellena, and the of course, classic Cuban sandwich. The sweet plantains, rice, and sides were all spot on, and the desserts were the perfect ending to the meal. And let’s talk about the Cuban coffee & desserts…..absolutely incredible! Served in beautiful Cuban espresso cups, it was rich, smooth, and the perfect way to finish our lunch. (Cortadito, Cappuccino & Espresso) If you’re looking for authentic Cuban food, generous portions, great prices, and a welcoming atmosphere, Mirna’s is a must-visit. I have been intending to dine at Mirna's for awhile. I've heard ONLY raving feedback. Summer is the slower season so I'm being intentional about patronizing some of our beloved local establishments. I met a friend for a late lunch last week and the parking lot (there is parking on both sides of the building) was packed and most tables were filled with people. There was a positive energy in the atmosphere. By the time my friend had parked, I was already seated. The food was delivered quickly and wow, were we astonished at the portions for the pricing! There is undeniable "fresh" to everything! Just the right amount of seasoning without being overpowering. We could still taste the meat, which was cooked perfectly. Thoroughly but still moist! Sarasota is fortunate to offer a global array of cuisine. .Mirna's is your go-to spot for authentic Cuban!

This was our second time visiting, and man, am I glad we gave this place another shot. The first time we came, they just had some unlucky timing—the AC went out on a hot day and the tech was already on the way. We stayed and ate anyway, and while the food and drinks were good, the heat kind of overshadowed the experience. Instead of writing them off for bad luck, we decided to come back… and wow, was that the right decision. This place has an awesome drink menu that’s priced really well, with fun specials like BOGO sangria and margaritas—which is a fantastic way to start the night. And they were excellent. The menu is full of unique items that fit the theme of the restaurant, and just looking around, you can tell the recipes give off that home-cooked vibe, which I absolutely love. The food was phenomenal—everything cooked perfectly, came out in a timely manner, and the portion sizes are very hearty. The restaurant has been clean every time we’ve visited, from the parking lot to the dining area and even the restrooms. On top of that, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I would absolutely recommend giving this little mom-and-pop gem a try. We’re glad we did—and we’ll definitely be back.
