By far one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. The authentic influenced yet high end options make this a must visit good destination. The house margaritas were exactly how you would expect them to be. The blue corn tortillas chips were awesome with the guacamole. The tacos we had all were fantastic. From the carne asada, the chorizo and the al pastor were all amazing and a top notch compared to your standard street tacos. The esquites were a fantastic side option as well. This place isn’t cheap but what isn’t in Siesta Key. Would definitely visit again when going to the Key!
Wandering the street looking for a late lunch and stumbled on this small hidden gem of Siesta Key. Not the typical Mexican menu, and our lovely server Laura explained that true to their name Casa Masa or House of Corn, their emphasis was their corn chips and tortillas. Tacos are ala carte and included oxtail, duck, and shrimp. We opted for the nachos, which had thick blue corn chips, roasted pork, grilled pineapple, black beans and the best queso in forever. We counted off the minutes until the 3pm happy hour for some awesome margaritas as it was national margarita day and they did not disappoint. My friend had a pineapple one, I had the passion fruit, both with a dark sugar rim and a dried lemon. I could have spent the rest of the night trying them all! It is small with indoor and outdoor seating, a large bar with big screen tv, spotless, reasonable prices and whimsical paintings on the bathroom walls. It gave me the feel of a small family run place rather than a corporate chain property. My research online before going to Siesta Key had me leaning toward one of the massive tiki bars, but next trip I will not stray from perfection at Casa Masa. It is a diamond!
Great place with a fun vibe and sweet staff. I live on the key so it’s a great stop for happy hour and wonderful margaritas that actually taste fresh instead of like syrup. Good tacos and a very unique variety.
